The Gonzo Club Launches Unique Album

Saturday 16th April

Doors open at 9pm

Admission €10

After bringing the Word Tent to its feet at Electric Picnic and the great success at The Flat Lake Festival, The Gonzo Club is back this Saturday (April 16th) with the launch of their first album. The collective of musicians and performers have produced a unique album of short stories with a devised soundtrack that ranges from funk, to trad to metal to afro- Caribbean… it promises to be one of the most exciting and original pieces of work to come out of Cavan.

Fronted by Philip Doherty and Daragh Slacke, the album features collaborations with Damien Dempsey and Liam O’Maonlai, as well as a host of local artists including Peter Sheirdan, Jamie Byrne and Daire Reilly, and produced by Shane O’Connor.

The launch this Saturday in the Gonzo, promises to be a night to remember with each story being performed along with a full live band (with Fabian Gillick and Dwayne Kiernan) and multi-media visuals and animation by Kevin McGahern.

Special guests include Radio-Active Grandma, and punk/beat poet John Cummins. After the show the newly designed Gonzo Lounge will be rocking till late with DJ Daihatsu playing tunes out of a van… (It will make sense when you get there.) Tickets on door -€10, doors 9pm @ The Gonzo Theatre, The Imperial, Main St. Cavan. Enquiries 087-1689430. www.thegonzotheatre.com & join us on Facebook .
